In Yemen, many young women face societal constraints that discourage them from pursuing careers in acting or participating in television dramas
Despite these challenges, a few determined women have managed to break through these barriers and achieve remarkable success in the field
One such trailblazer is Nooran Annaqib, a 22-year-old actress who has made her mark in the Yemeni drama scene over the past four years, captivating audiences with her diverse and compelling performances
Born in Al-Mudhafar district in the heart of Taiz city, Nooran’s fearless personality and natural charisma led her to pursue a degree in media studies
This choice not only helped her refine her acting skills but also marked her initial foray into the field
Nooran’s acting journey began in 2019, during her first year of university
She became involved with youth troupes, performing at graduation ceremonies and various small-scale events
Initially, she took on minor roles, dedicating herself to honing her acting prowess
As time went on, she transitioned to participating as an actress in short films aimed at raising awareness and in university graduation projects
As time progressed, Nooran accumulated valuable experience in the dramatic field
Her breakthrough came in October 2022 when she landed a role in the Ramadan drama series “Al-Aliyah,” aired on Yemen Shabab TV

net”: “She recognized my acting talent and encouraged me to pursue my dreams in this field

She was my pillar of strength, guiding and motivating me every step of the way
This has fueled my determination to succeed in the world of acting from the very beginning

This scrutiny can escalate into ridicule and cyberbullying, particularly targeting actors and actresses
“I’ve faced a fair share of mockery and bullying, especially from friends, who claim that my chosen profession violates traditional norms,” Nooran shared with “Almushahid
net” “I’ve also encountered negative criticism from some followers on my personal Facebook page whenever I post acting videos or photos
” Undeterred by these challenges, Nooran remains steadfast in her conviction that her work serves a meaningful purpose
She emphasizes that her roles are carefully selected to address societal issues and present solutions to various problems through a thought-provoking dramatic lens
Currently in her fourth year of studies, Nooran is nearing the completion of her media degree at Taiz University
She envisions a future where she continues to pursue acting, further developing her skills and talent in the dramatic arts
“I will not succumb to any obstacle or challenge that stands in my professional path
I will continue my artistic journey with unwavering strength and resolve, aiming to become a recognized actress not only in Yemen but also across the Arab world,” she concluded her talk
